Smoking Goat

Smoking Goat is an open-fire Thai barbecue restaurant and bar, serving food inspired by the street food of Bangkok and the laab stalls of northern Thailand. We&#39;re a busy restaurant that works closely with exceptional farmers and offers a daily-changing menu. Our drinks programme includes unique beers, natural wines, and a growing vinyl record collection. We welcome applicants looking to grow and be inspired. Thai cooking experience is not required—just a passion for learning and being part of a strong, team-focused restaurant. We&#39;re now looking for an experienced bartender to join our bar team! As a bartender at Smoking Goat, you’ll work across the full front-of-house team, combining confident floor service with creative bar leadership. You’ll play an active role in shaping our drinks programme while developing your skills in ordering, stock management, and team training. What you’ll be doing: Bar Creativity and Seasonal Innovation<ul><li>Bring a deep knowledge of traditional cocktails while developing original recipes that reflect our produce-first approach.</li><li>Work closely with the kitchen and sourcing teams to align drinks with seasonal menus.</li><li>Help shape our evolving drinks list and contribute ideas for specials and new offerings.</li></ul> Front of House Support and Service<ul><li>Confidently deliver bar and floor service, ensuring guests feel welcomed and well looked after.</li><li>Collaborate with the wider FOH team, supporting across all areas of service as needed.</li><li>Contribute to a lively and respectful team environment, focused on high standards and positive energy.</li></ul> Training, Leadership and Development<ul><li>Support the Bar Manager in training the wider front-of-house team in drinks knowledge and bar service.</li><li>Share your skills and enthusiasm with junior team members, building a culture of learning and collaboration.</li><li>Take on increasing responsibility in line with your growth and experience.</li></ul> Stock, Suppliers and Accountability<ul><li>Gain hands-on experience with stock management, ordering, and accounting processes.</li><li>Build strong relationships with suppliers and producers, supporting the Bar Manager in sourcing and logistics.</li><li>Take responsibility for maintaining clean, organised and well-stocked bar spaces.</li></ul> What We’re Looking For:<ul><li>Significant bar experience in a high-quality, fast-paced environment.</li><li>Strong foundation in traditional cocktails and a love for experimenting with fresh, seasonal ingredients.</li><li>Comfortable delivering floor service and working across the full front-of-house team.</li><li>A team player with a collaborative mindset and positive energy.</li><li>Highly organised, with a keen eye for detail and quality.</li><li>Passionate about produce, hospitality, and learning new skills.</li><li>Full UK right to work documents.</li><li>Ability to work flexibly, full time.</li></ul> What’s in it for you: <ul><li>28 days of annual leave, including bank holidays.</li><li>Access to courses, resources, and training to enhance your career.</li><li>50% discount at all our restaurants, along with complimentary staff meals during your shifts.</li><li>Discounted dining at various local establishments near Super 8 Restaurants.</li><li>Enhanced maternity leave, pension scheme, subsidised mental health support, and a cycle-to-work scheme.</li><li>Refer a Friend scheme—recommend someone to join Super 8 and receive a bonus!</li><li>Opportunities for both international and national travel to visit our suppliers and learn about sourcing ingredients and beverages.</li><li>£300 contribution towards the purchase of a work laptop for all salaried staff members.</li></ul> If this role sounds like a great fit for you, we’d love to see your application!
