Kitchen Porter

Impala

London•Up to £16.00 per hour (£12.71 base + Up to £3.29 Tronc) •Full time / Part time

About us:

Impala is an open fire grill restaurant led by chef Meedu Saad, co-owner and executive chef of Kiln, with influences from North Africa to North London. This project is a culmination of recipes and techniques collected from the unruly metropolises that have shaped Meedu’s cooking.

Our restaurant's larder is built across the seasons, and an absolute focus on quality of ingredients founded upon long term farming projects. The room, led by Fanny Derozier, who has spent the last six years at Kiln, will have an atmosphere which recalls the energy of the Friday markets of Cairo, colliding with a Soho bar. The wine list, led by Penny Vine and Martina Larnach, will focus on offering multiple cuvées and vintages from producers whom they are inspired by.

We’re looking for people who are passionate about what we do, excited by the Super 8 vision, and eager to be involved in shaping something new. This is your chance to grow with us and help create a restaurant that reflects the creativity and energy of our team.

We’re seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our Kitchen Team!

  • Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans and kitchen equipment promptly and efficiently.
  • Work closely with the chefs throughout service, ensuring they have the equipment, crockery and support they need to keep service running smoothly.
  • Keep kitchen workstations, floors, storage areas and waste disposal areas clean, tidy and hazard-free.
  • Support the kitchen team with receiving deliveries and storing goods correctly.
  • Help organise dry stores and fridges, following FIFO procedures to maintain freshness and minimise waste.
  • Respond quickly to requests from chefs and support the smooth running of service.
  • Report any damaged equipment, hazards or shortages to the senior kitchen team.
  • Work closely with both BOH and FOH teams to maintain high standards across the restaurant.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene and waste procedures and help the kitchen maintain consistently high standards.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, staying organised and maintaining high standards during busy periods.

What you’ll bring:

  • A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
  • The ability to work efficiently and stay organised in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and a willingness to support the wider kitchen team.
  • Reliability, professionalism and a strong work ethic.
  • Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is helpful but not essential — we’re more interested in your attitude, reliability and willingness to learn.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts across 5 out of 7 days.
  • Full UK right to work documents.

What’s in it for you:

  • 28 days of annual leave, including bank holidays.
  • Access to courses, resources, and training to enhance your career.
  • 50% discount at all our restaurants, along with complimentary staff meals during your shifts.
  • Discounted dining at various local establishments near Super 8 Restaurants.
  • Enhanced maternity leave, pension scheme, subsidised mental health support, and a cycle-to-work scheme.
  • Refer a Friend scheme — recommend someone to join Super 8 and receive a bonus!
  • Opportunities for both international and national travel to visit our suppliers and learn about sourcing ingredients and beverages.
  • Opportunities to develop your skills and progress within the kitchen team and wider Super 8 group.

If this role sounds like a great fit for you, we’d love to see your application!
